KAMPALA mayor-elect Hajji Nasser Ntege Sebaggala and his brother Latif Ssebaggala, the Kawempe North MP, on Sunday attended a thanksgiving service at St. Peter's Church, Kisaasi.
Sebaggala, a Muslim, was accompanied by his wife, Gera Mosh and several division councillors.
The group arrived at the church at 10:52am without the usual escorts of bodaboda cyclists and seyas.
Dressed in a kanzu (tunic), grey coat and black shoes, the brothers entered the church to the song 'Oh Happy day that fixed my choice' and applause from Christians flashing his V-sign.
Sebaggala did not respond but matched to the front seats where he sat quietly throughout the summon that was led by the parish Provost, the Rev. Alooni Mulondo.
This is the same church where Ssebaggala went for prayers before he started his campaigns.
Mulondo, said, "We congratulate you and thank you for coming back as a victorious man. We thank God for answering our prayers. It means a lot to us that you came here at the beginning of your campaigns for our prayers and you are back at the beginning of your office."
Mulondo asked christians to use the lent period to turn back to God.
Sebaggala said, "I have decided to attend this first Sunday after my victory with you because I came here early and you prayed for me. I thank God who has enabled me to come back as a mayor."

Sebaggala said he had made history for being the first multiparty elected mayor of Kampala.
He later hosted his fans to a party in Kisaasi.
