"Wherever I Lay My Hat," written by Gaye, and "Dream Myself Awake," by Thomas, are also included. The Adams/Jim Vallance-penned "The Right Place" was originally written for Ray Charles to perform shortly before his death.
"Soul Thing" and "The Deal" were both written by Hicks and released on his second independent album "Under the Radar" before he auditioned for the popular television show.
Hicks was crowned victor on "American Idol" after the majority of 36.4 million viewers voted for him over Katharine McPhee.
