Gwen Stefani has revealed the inside track on her collaboration with Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley.

The pair have collaborated on "Early Winter," a song which features on Stefani's new album, The Sweet Escape.

The sometime No Doubt singer describes the finished track as "one of the most beautiful songs ever," insisting she believes Rice-Oxley is "Superman-talented."

She explained: "I wanted a ballad. I wanted to write 'Eyes Without A Face' or 'Killing Me Softly' or 'Time After Time,' and he was like, 'OK,

Cyndi Lauper, got it,' like he was taking my order."

But Gwen was delighted with the result, telling MTV: "It was so beautiful and addictive. I didn't really attack it because it was kind of done, lyrics and everything. It's just like one of the most beautiful songs ever. I love it."

The Sweet Escape is released this week.
