Ben Gibbard, lead singer for Death Cab For Cutie, isn't one for resting. While his band is on break from extensive touring, the restless Gibbard has announced a countrywide solo tour. We can't help but think that he'd be better off staying at home and finishing that Postal Service sophomore release, but we won't hold it against him.
In other news, Gibbard was also cast as an actor in the movie version of Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, the short story collection by post-modern author David Foster Wallace. The film, currently in production, is directed by John Krasinski, also known as Jim from the popular comedy series The Office—and, if it's anything like the book, promises to be pretentious.
