And, Ikke, that is the beauty of music. I think OM2 was made for a few reasons - first, the band has been deluged with questions for 10 years asking when the record will be made. Second, I think with the current state of affairs in the country, the record makes more sense. It's tough to sell a pissed-off at the world record when no one else is pissed off and disgruntled, as seemed to be the case during the Clinton years. The thing I like most about this record is, they certainly didn't sandbag it and thrust it out there. Like this record or not, no one will be able to say that the effort wasn't there. It's a very heavy, very deep record. It's not like 17 songs covering a plethora of topics.

Iff the band was just getting back to the Mindcrime theme, for the money they would have made O:M 2 in 1991 and they didn't they made other albums some realy good like Empire, and Promised Land, some not so (or even bad,all a mather of personal taste)like Q2K and Hear in the now frontier. And only now after 18! years there going back to Operation:Mindcrime Some will love it,some will thinks its okay, and some will hate it. personaly i don't care about others people opinions, iff i like somthing i'll buy it, iff i don't like something i dont No-body forces me to listento Queensryche,or any other bands/music its my choise

I am not a reviewer prone to discussing how pissed off spilling my coffee made me and how it relates to Song No. 8. I have however heard 90 percent of OM2, once, and as a long-time Queensryche observer offer the following thoughts: 1.) Easily as heavy, if not moreso, than the EP. 2.) Chris DeGarmo's absence resonates throughout this album. Mike Stone is quite talented and you can discern his contributions in the CD, but DeGarmo is perhaps the most underrated guitarist in history. With him, this CD would have made the original look amateurish by comparison. 3.) Much deeper than the original. 4.) Eddie Jackson shreds on this record. If you like flawless bass playing, this is your panacea. 5.) Definitely quite a few bright moments, and the effort put into the record is obvious. If Geoff Tate's solo record was his girly side, this is his pissed off side. 6.) This record certainly is legitmate. Not better than the original, but not worse either. Just different. 7.) Ryche fans will react much the same way they did to OM1: take a week or two to absorb all the songs five or six at a time, take a few spins with the whole thing, and end up loving it. 8.) Best songs I heard were "The Hands," and the quirky but heavy "Signs Say Go." 9.) All in all, this album proves you can be heavy as hell and still be polished. Ultimately, though, beauty is in the ear of the listener, and you will have to decide for yourself. Like I said, I ain't no reviewer. Now I gotta go clean up this damn coffee.

I just showed my friend this, and he agrees. He doesn't even know this band, but you know what?! Neither do the fricken hicks all around the world... not saying he's a hick or anything... But I guess all I want to say is just because Queensryche is making a Mindcrime II, it Doesn't mean that they're lacking creativity, it seems more like they're adding to an original idea. I do that all the time. Just reeeeellllaaaaxxxxx!!!! Wait to see what happens, and you might just turn out to like it. Trust me Luv ya all, Cloudwlker

All you fricken people who don't see what's good about Queensryche, F U!!!! You probably just are a bunch of hicks that are trying to blend in. I think Mindcrime is not worn out, and they can make all of them until at the 9th fricken one. I'de enjoy them all. I'm a hard-core Queensryche fan, and I hate having people disagree! You beleivers, buy the album!!! I know I will!!!!

DOGSBOLLOCKS - 2/27/2006 4:51:08 AM
don't get me wrong frankie....I'm not trashing 'ryche here I like the guys, admittedly some of their material is not as good as the rest but I think this 'mindcryme theme is being overworked somewhat....

frankiefrank - 2/24/2006 9:45:32 PM
OMC2 has been leaked you cawksuckers. A word to all the haters, Queensryche have returned to form with OMC2. This album smokes. It clocks in at just under 60 min. The only weakness is that it ends with a ballad. This album ranks up there with Rage For Order and the original Mindcrime. Fuck all you haters.

DOGSBOLLOCKS - 2/24/2006 1:11:24 PM
why the hell are these guys going on and on with this fucking mindcryme theme . . . it was okay first time around but I think the whole concept is getting abit tired and worn out now . . . get real guys . . . some new ideas and imagination for cryin' out loud!!!!

Gadsden - 2/22/2006 6:31:17 PM
there only one operation mindcrime period. static x rules.
