After pleading guilty to the offense, the singer was told he will not receive a custodial sentence for driving while unfit.
Instead, the singer was given 100 hours community service and has been banned from driving for two years.
Michael was arrested on October 1 after he was found slumped at the steering wheel of his car in the early hours of the morning.
According to BBC News, he expressed his shame, telling the court: "I was ashamed I had done something really wrong in putting other people at risk."
Meanwhile, George Michael returns back to work this weekend, performing two shows at London's Wembley Stadium.
