SRINAGAR: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants were killed in a five-hour gunbattle with security forces in Pampore town of Jammu and Kashmir late last night, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Troops of Rashtriya Rifles and police raided Chandhar village of Pampore in Pulwama district and were fired upon by militants hiding in a house at around 6 pm yesterday, he said.

In the ensuing gunbattle that lasted for about five hours, two ultras identified as Mohammad Khalid alias Abu Talha of Pakistan and a local JeM militant Zubair Ahmad Lone were killed, he said.

The house where the militants were hiding was damaged during the encounter and two AK assault rifles found on the slain militants.
