Updated 01:57 PST Wed, Mar 22 2006 Two generations of Southern rock will come together this June and July as Lynyrd Skynyrd and 3 Doors Down co-headline the Double Trouble Summer Tour.
The 15-city trek begins June 25 in Cincinnati and wraps July 22 in Biloxi, Miss. The bulk of the dates are in the South and Midwest, but they'll cover some Yankee territory as well, including three shows in Pennsylvania.
"We've been trying to go on the road with these guys for a while," Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant said. "We've done a few events together, but our schedules haven't worked out before now. We're excited about these shows. It's going to be a high energy, old school meets new school Southern rock concert you don't want to miss."
"It's going to be an honor to share the same stage with these guys every night," 3 Doors Down vocalist Brad Arnold said. "Like so many others, I grew up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. We've been friends with the guys for years, so it's going to be great to finally get to tour together."
Founding Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington added, "We're going to double the pleasure, double the fun and double the trouble on this tour!"
