Now that OutKast's on an indefinite hiatus, Andre 3000 has announced his very own "rebel gentleman" clothing line under the name Benjamin Bixby. According to a cover story in New York magazine's spring fashion issue, the 70-piece collection refers to Andre's full name (Andre Benjamin) and a fictional character that's "kind of like your uncle, or your granddad, and he has a closet full of experiences and clothes, and he's been around the world."
Andre hopes to have his clothes in Barneys by the fall, around the same time he's planning on releasing a solo record. In the meantime, the rapper/producer/Project Runway wannabe is set to appear in the Will Ferrell film Semi-Pro on February 29, as well as a forthcoming drama about the 1999 WTO protest in Seattle (Battle in Seattle).
