Latifah signs for 'Welfare Queen'



Actress/rapper Queen Latifah will headline the fact-based drama "Welfare Queen," Variety reports.

The film, based on the life of Dorothy Woods, revolves around a woman (Latifah) who managed to scam the welfare system out of a fortune.

Latifah, who voiced a wooly mammoth in "Ice Age: The Meltdown," will next be seen in "Hairspray" with John Travolta.
