Former Kinks mastermind Ray Davies will follow up his triumphant concerts at the Vic Theatre last weekend with a headlining performance July 4 at Taste of Chicago in Grant Park, city officials confirmed today.
Davies, who is performing Kinks classics and songs from his recent solo album with a new band, will be joined on the bill by My Morning Jacket and former Soul Coughing vocalist Mike Doughty.
Other headliners at the Petrillo Music Shell will include Glen Campbell on July 1, Jo Dee Messina on July 2, the Grant Park Orchestra accompanying fireworks on July 3, India.Arie on July 5, Macy Gray and Liquid Soul on July 7, and former Styx vocalist Dennis DeYoung and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on July 9.
Headliners for July 6 and July 8 will be announced later.
