Kanye West heads Bumbershoot lineup
Kanye West, A Tribe Called Quest, AFI, Hawthorne Heights and Yellowcard will head up the 2006 edition of Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival, slated to take place Sept. 2-4 at the Seattle Center.
Also on the bill is Atmosphere, Feist, Shooter Jennings, the English Beat, Deerhoof, Mates of State and Metric.
While prior incarnations of the festival have kicked off on a Friday and run though the weekend, this year’s edition will run Saturday through Monday.
In addition of musical performances, Bumbershoot will also feature a variety of festival activities, including Flat Track Derby Invitational at KeyArena, the Flatstock poster art fair, two comedy stages (up from a single stage last year), readings from authors such as Greil Marcus and Mary Gaitskill, and the 1 Reel Film Festival, to be curated for the first time by the Seattle International Film Festival.
Seattle-based One Reel are the producers of the event.
