Everyone remembers where they were when the Unicorns broke up. Fans of quirky Canadian indie pop were devastated, naturally. But the true ghastliness fell upon Canada’s hairdressers, who scrambled to figure out just who amongst them, exactly, would cut the band’s hair. You know, now that they’re gone. Thankfully for cutters everywhere, two of the band’s members rose, like a freshly coiffured phoenix, from the ashes of their former band. Islands plays tonight at the Middle East.
