TV critic's choice for Friday

Mouse in the house
Mouse in the house

Now that Walt Disney is finally over the fact that the Mickey Mouse Club helped launch the career of Britney Spears, it's ready to reopen the clubhouse doors. "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" (6:30 p.m. today, Disney) returns with more animation than in previous outings and music by They Might Be Giants.

Backin' Black

If we've learned anything in recent years, it's that Jack Black belongs in the company of misfit kids, not a giant ape. The tenacious comic actor shines in 2003's "The School of Rock" (7 p.m. today, KMSP, Ch. 9), playing a teacher who uses music -- and Belushi-inspired comedy -- to reach his students.

All you need is Love

It may be hard to swallow the plot of the season finale of "The Ghost Whisperer" (7 p.m. today, WCCO, Ch. 4), in which our heroine does battle with an evil spirit, but it's just as hard to believe that Jennifer Love Hewitt, not exactly known for her dramatic work, turned this series into a hit. Thank goodness for little miracles.

Sister act

"Decades Rock Live: Heart" (7 p.m. today, VH1 Classic) features an unusual roster paying tribute to the rock duo. Alice in Chains, Carrie Underwood and Rufus Wainwright all get in the act.
