Young Jeezy

The Florida State's attorney's office has declined to prosecute Young Jeezy on two counts of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, reports MTV.com. The charges stem from an incident in March when Jeezy and his personal assistant were with a group of men who got into a fight in South Beach. The altercation allegedly ended in a shootout when a passer-by filming the scuffle refused to hand over his video camera, but no one was injured. Jeezy and others fled the scene in an SUV which was soon pulled over and police found weapons under the seat. However, Jeezy denied that the weapons were his. "As we told everyone that day, no weapons in the car belonged to Young Jeezy," his lawyer, Scott Leemon, said in a statement. "We are glad that he is able to put this behind him and refocus on what he does best — making hit records."

The Raconteurs have announced the initial dates for their first-ever U.S. tour. Jack White's new band will begin their tour on July 16 in Denver, with only 11 shows announced thus far. Their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers, was released today.

Alien Ant Farm is finally ready to make their comeback after a 2003 European bus crash that killed their driver and nearly paralyzed singer Dryden Mitchell. The band's new CD, Up In The Attic, is due July 25 via New Door/UME, with the new single, "Forgive & Forget," impacting radio in early June. Also on July 25, AAF will release BUSted, a DVD chronicling life on the road as well as all 10 of the band's music videos and concert footage. AAF plans to tour this summer in support of Up In The Attic.

Aerosmith will hit the studio on May 20 to begin recording their next album, reports MTV. "It's Armed Forces Day and we're going in with guns a blazing," singer Steven Tyler said in a statement.

About a month ago, A Perfect Circle singer Maynard James Keenan told a French magazine that the band had gone about as far as it could go. Now guitarist and songwriter Billy Howerdel has spoken out on the subject, telling MTV.com that, "We don't know what's happening. [Maynard and I have] talked about it lightly... I think we both entertain the fact that it could happen again, but for right now we don't have any plans to do it again. We're focusing on what we're doing now. A Perfect Circle is done for now." Howerdel is currently working on his own material and assembling a new, as-yet-unnamed band.

Metal legends Megadeth have inked a deal with Roadrunner Records. The band has already begun working on its Roadrunner debut and frontman Dave Mustaine is also plotting his second Gigantour, a festival-style tour for this summer. "It is exciting to be some place you are respected, understood and appreciated," Mustaine said of signing to Roadrunner. "The truth is there’s a lot of people I’ve known there over the years. I’m stoked we’re all coming back together again to work on this project."

Bob Weir's main musical outlet, Ratdog, and the String Cheese Incident will co-headline 15 shows this summer, starting June 24 in Santa Margarita, CA. The bands will switch up the opening and closing duties. The tour wraps July 15 in Mansfield, MA.
