James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo from Metallica have teamed up with former Alice in Chains members Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney for a special three song set to raise funds for MusiCares MAP fund.

The fund provides care and help to musicians who want to rid themselves of their addictions.

The super group performed Alice in Chains songs ‘Would?’ and ‘Them Bones’ followed by Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’.

Hetfield was presented with the Stevie Ray Vaughan award for overcoming his own addictions, as documented in the Metallica movie ‘Some Kind Of Monster’.

The event also honored legendary promoter and manager, Bill Silvia.

Other people to attend include other Metallica members Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett as well as Lemmy Kilmister, Ozzy and Sharon Osborne, Dave Navarro, Sully Erna of Boston and Godsmack.

Other performers included Tom Waits, Jason Mraz, Velvet Revolver, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and comedian Margaret Cho.
