When the Stills released their 2003 debut album, Logic Will Break Your Heart, critics were quick to lump them in with Anglo-inspired New York City bands such as Interpol and the Strokes. It didn't matter that the Stills are from Canada and (they claim) hadn't even heard Echo and the Bunnymen before recording Logic, because their sound was as stark and cold as a London dungeon. But three years, numerous tours and a lineup change later guitarist Greg Paquet left and was replaced on vocals and guitar by former drummer Dave Hamelin the Stills are back with a second full-length, Without Feathers, which embraces a warmer, more organic sound than its predecessor.
