The White Stripes have won in the lawsuit brought against the Detroit duo by producer Jim Diamond. A federal court ruled in their favor yesterday in Detroit, with the band not having to pay any royalties to Diamond, who worked on their first two albums. White’s attorney told The Detroit News that Diamond “manufactured these claims only after the Whites became successful," adding, “Money changes everything.”Fat Joe tells MTV.com that his next album, Me, Myself & I, should arrive in stores this September. The hefty Hip-Hop star is pumped for the record’s release. “I never had an album like this. I made straight monsters. It's really a problem. I'm ready, boy. I'm amped up,” he said. “My album is crazy. It's over. Bet the kitchen sink on me. Bet it, run out, spend your life's savings. It's on and popping. It's crazy. I can't believe it's coming out crazy like that."
With a recovered Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones will return to the road next month in Italy. The British press has recently reported that guitarist Ron Wood is in rehab in London for alcohol. A spokesperson for the band would not confirm or deny the rumors to Reuters, but simply said the band would begin the next leg of the Bigger Bang tour on July 11.
Seether has parted ways with guitarist Pat Callahan, according to the band’s MySpace page. Callahan joined the group a few years ago after he was plucked from a local band in Philadelphia that had opened for Seether. The band will continue as a three-piece and is set to release the live CD/DVD set One Cold Night on July 11.
Political rockers Living Things got into a fight in the home of neutrality earlier this week. The band tells MTV.com that they were physically attacked on-stage in Switzerland for speaking out against the Bush Administration, and that the crew for the group Alter Bridge was behind the assault. Alter Bridge released a statement saying they had no part in the incident, with another source telling MTV.com that Living Things instigated the fight beforehand backstage.
