Gnarls Barkley has gotten a thumbs-up from the offbeat duo's namesake: "Sir" Charles Barkley. The "Round Mound Of Rebound" tells the Philadelphia Daily News that he is "flattered and honored" by the group's name. He also is a fan of their debut album St. Elsewhere, calling it, "pretty good, an interesting mix of Rock and Rap."Snow Patrol has rescheduled their entire North American tour, with the exception of one show, for later this summer and fall. Due to singer Gary Lightbody's throat troubles, the tour needed to be postponed. The band will play a one-off gig in Boston on August 15, then begin the tour in Atlanta on September 6, winding up in San Diego on September 28. Snow Patrol will also play radio festival dates for KNDD/Seattle and KNRK/Portland in mid-August.
U.K. buzz band Arctic Monkeys have split with bassist Andy Nicholson. Originally it had been announced that he would be sitting out the band's next leg of touring due to exhaustion, but on their official Web site, the Monkeys write, "We are sad to tell everyone that Andy is no longer with the band. Nick O'Malley, who stood in for Andy while he was absent from the recent tour of North America, shall carry on playing bass for the remaining shows this summer. We have been mates with Andy for a long time and have been through some amazing things together that no one can take away. We all wish Andy the very best."

The Flaming Lips have confirmed their summer tour schedule, staring this weekend with the U.K. Wireless Festival. After a handful of European dates, the band returns to the States for a variety of festival and theater gigs in July and August, including Lollapalooza in Chicago. The majority of their August gigs will be supported by Sonic Youth and The Magic Numbers. The Flaming Lips will be on tour at least until the end of September.Pop singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger is the latest artist to perform for Clear Channel's online "Stripped" series of live concerts. Over 100 CC stations' Web sites are currently streaming the performance, which includes a cover of The Postal Service's "Brand New Colony."
Modest Mouse has postponed their West Coast tour this summer, to further concentrate on the recording of their next album. According to Modest Mouse's Web site, "The group sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and is looking forward to finishing their new album and rescheduling the dates."
Shawnna is offering listeners a "Sneak Peek" at her album, Block Music, on 30 Clear Channel radio stations' Web sites before its release next Tuesday, June 27. Shawnna is the first female member of Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace crew.
Last summer's Gigantour featuring Megadeth, Dream Theater, Life Of Agony, Fear Factory and more will be memorialized on a two-CD and two-DVD set that will be released August 22 and September 5, respectively. The DVD set includes a special bonus disc with backstage footage and interviews. The CD contains three songs not included on the DVD. News regarding Gigantour 2006 will be announced shortly.
