Da Backwudz' Producer Dallas Austin Arrested For Drugs in Dubai

An attorney representing ATL's Grammy award wining producer Dallas Austin , revealed yesterday (June 25) that the renowned beatsmith is facing trial on drug charges in Dubai, UAE.
Austin, who is known for crafting beats for Janet Jackson, TLC, A Tribe Called Quest, Goodie Mob, Da BackWudz, and Kelis, along with producing the films Drumline and ATL, was arrested on May 19th at DubaiInternationalAirport for allegedly possessing drugs, according to his Bahraini lawyer, Qays Hatem Al Zu'bi.
Earlier reports surrounding Austin's arrest stated that he had flown into Dubai to attend Naomi Campbell's birthday party. Al Zu'bi contends that his client was in Dubai visiting and attending concerts.
"The suspect who is married and a father of four children was visiting Dubai for tourism and to attend some music concerts," Al Zu'bi told the Gulf News.
UAE authorities have not released the details of the drugs that were in Austin's possession. According to Al Zu'bi, Austin has been charged with possessing drugs for personal use.
Austin attended a hearing last week at the Dubai Court of First Instance,and is due for another hearing on July 2.
In related news, Austin will be one of the many producers featured on Ali & Big Gipp's collaborative album titled Kinfolk. Due in stores this summer , Kinfolk boasts appearances from Nelly, Murphy Lee, Cee Lo, David Banner, Juvenile, Three 6 Mafia and Bun B.
