Iggy, Incubus to salute the Pretenders

NEW YORK (Billboard) - The next episode of VH1's "Decades Rock Live" series will honor the Pretenders and feature performances from the group plus special guests

Iggy Pop, Garbage's Shirley Manson, Incubus and Kings Of Leon.

To be taped on August 11 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J., the concert will be broadcast in early autumn.

The Pretenders will embark on a short tour before the taping, beginning July 9 at Cornbury Park in Charlbury, England. The group recently issued a five-disc boxed set, "Pirate Radio" via Sire/Warner Bros./Rhino, but there are no plans to record a new studio album at present.

"I've done lots of songs for film soundtracks and things like that -- stuff I'm not ashamed of, but that doesn't represent my legacy with the Pretenders. And I wanted that represented," frontwoman

Chrissie Hynde recently told Billboard of the box set. "I also thought this was a chance to present the band in a way I'd like it to be remembered -- and to represent the guys I had playing with me over the years. Once I realized all this, I got completely involved in the project."
