NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Hootie and the Blowfish will launch a ten-city concert series July 3 in Nashville, Tennessee, to help collect school supplies for children. Ticket holders are encouraged to bring a school supply item to shows in the Homegrown Concert series. The supplies will be loaded on a school bus and donated to each community's public school system. The group started the event in Charleston in 2003. It expanded to other cities in South and North Carolina in 2004. This year's tour includes stops in Charleston, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Florida. A business or organization will partner with the band in each city and make a donation to the schools. Hootie & the Blowfish's hits include "Hold My Hand," "Only Wanna Be With You" and "Let Her Cry." Their latest album is "Looking for Lucky."
