Currently On A Sold-Out Run with Trivium in the U.K.

Press Release:

God Forbid were recently featured guests on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball and their stunning, emotional epic video for the track “To The Fallen Hero” also made its worldwide debut in that same episode. The clip, shot by the acclaimed director Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights), is the group’s most ambitious concept yet that will easily catch your attention and set itself apart from the pack. Check it out here.

God Forbid are currently in the midst of a sold-out U.K. tour with Trivium before heading back to the U.S. for their much-anticipated direct support tour alongside Children of Bodom this spring. Following this run they will immediately join label mates Arch Enemy for the remainder of their Jagermeister tour, which also features Chimaira and Hate Eternal. Dallas and Doc Coyle will also be featured in June’s issue of Guitar World, which hits stands on April 11th and also contains their blistering CD-Rom instructional segments.

Doc (guitars, vocals) checks in from the U.K. with the following update: “Right now, we’re five days into our UK/IRE tour with Trivium and I have to say that so far, this is the best U.K. tour we’ve ever done, if not the best tour we’ll have ever done. For those who don’t know, every single show on this tour is pre sold-out. Trivium are massive over here, and fortunately for us, their good fortune seems to be rubbing off on us a bit. It’s a very young crowd, so all of the fans are so open-minded. Every night, from our first note these kids are going fucking mental! Between every song, “God Forbid” chants ring through the venue. It’s overwhelming. We are having a blast to say the least. We took Trivium on their first tour less than two years ago because we liked their music, and it’s great that they appreciated that, and brought us back out in the midst of their incredible success. A big thanks goes to those guys.

“We got to play Ireland for the first time since we toured there with Killswitch and Chimaira back in ’04. We have definitely gained popularity in the last couple years. We did a two-hour signing at Tower Records in Dublin and it’s definitely the best in-store we’ve ever done. Just to give you an idea of how crazy these kids are, we got off the tour bus to a crowd of kids chanting our names. The dedication is mind-boggling. We’ve still got two weeks to go on this run, and with massive gigs left in Glasgow, Manchester, and London, it’s only going to crazier.

“In other news, I’m sure many of you have heard that we’re going on tour with our good friends in Arch Enemy, Chimaira and Hate Eternal. This is also a Jager sponsored tour, and will be one of the best line-ups of the year for sure! We’re lucky to be able to play with such great bands tour after tour. We’re currently also working on summer touring plans, and will definitely be doing some European festivals as well as some kind of package tour in the states. Be well, and stay fucking metal.”

God Forbid’s critically acclaimed new album, IV: Constitution of Treason, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #119 in its first week of release, and it's the first time the group has ever appeared in the Top 200 charts. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album -- a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world -- further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly-respected bands in metal today.

Vanp - 3/9/2006 6:55:01 AM
Saw them kick ass at the 2004 ozzfest in Tampa. ANY band that can get up that early, open a HUGE festival like Ozzfest everday for 2-3 months straight at 9:30 am are one helluva band. I saw them about 5 years ago with GWAR in Tallahassee, Florida before metal made its triumphant return to the mainstream and they threw down then as well.

ABOMB1810 - 3/9/2006 6:08:08 AM
It's quite alright, heavy aggressive intelligent metal is not for everyone...I'm sure FasterPussycat & Winger will need more jackholes like you in the crowd to enjoy their crap...thank goodness you are a minority, and most people who aren't tonedeaf realize GodForbid do kickass!!1

Blobber - 3/8/2006 10:55:44 PM
I sit in the dark, like a mushroom...

_XXXXXXXXXX_ - 3/8/2006 10:22:33 PM
Wow! Jesse Jackson sure can rock.

metlgod - 3/8/2006 8:35:47 PM
These mother fuckers suck,......... I'm sorry. I watch them and wonder why I'm not a rock star of the same caliber as Led Zeppelin. If these clowns can get a record deal and tours then there ought to be 10,000 garage bands across the country that can step up right now to major labels and arena tours.

frown - 3/8/2006 6:41:05 PM
I wouldnt recommend this band to my worst enemy. I saw them live and couldnt wait till they were done. I love metal and give all bands a chance as I love to hear the next great thing....this band aint it.
