American Idol Finalist Kimberley Locke To Release New Single And Album

Kimberley Locke made it all the way to the top three on American Idol 2, before losing out to Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken.  Now, Kimberley Locke has a new single and a new album on the way.  Curb Records recently confirmed that "Supawoman" will be the first single from Kimberley Locke's sophomore album, "Based On A True Story."

“Supawoman” was written by Locke with her producers Mark Feist & Damon Sharpe.  The single will be released to Top 40 and Rhythmic Crossover radio and will be available for downloads at iTunes on July 4th. The album version is mixed by Phil Tan (Mariah Carey) with a DHM Radio Mix by Jon Gass (Brandy).

"I think it was time for a new anthem for the ladies," says Locke. "'Supa' is about telling your man that it's okay to be with a strong woman. Sorry, men!" she laughs.

Locke's sophomore album will be released this fall on Curb Records.  Kimberley Locke has co-written 9 songs for "Based On A True Story," the follow-up to her "One Love" debut, which included #1 Billboard Single Sales hit "8th World Wonder," and top 10 Billboard AC hit, "I Could."

In addition to her new album, Locke is also stepping back into reality TV.  Locke took part in an as-yet-untitled MTV reality series this summer set to air on the network later this fall.  Locke is also a national spokesmodel for fashion retailer Lane Bryant.

How sad that Kimberly thinks she can still have a career after the dismal embarassing sales of her last album. Some people just don't know when their ten minutes of fame are up. I hope at least this time she does something with that watermelon head of hers because I think a head that big keeps fans away. They want to go see a singer, not a "freak show."

Kimberly, though, would have made a better runner-up that year than Clay Aiken, who was yet to directly deny the charges of him sleazing for cheap gay sex on the internet. Why won't he firmly deny it? I think we all know the answer to that. In case you did not hear, one man says he had unsafe sex with Aiken in a hotel room and Clay would not answer his calls and another one said Clay sent him near-nudie pics of himself on a cam trying to prey on him and I saw the pics in a magazine and they look just like him to me. It's no wonder I hear there is a class-action lawsuit against his record company by his former fans who feel Clay misrepresented himself by saying he was straight- shocking! And that he tries to hide behind our lord and savior is even more scandalous. He should be run out of this country on a rail! I will not buy anything of his until I hear an explanation from him about these accusations. Get back to morality, America!!

As for Kimberly, she has an uphill battle in front of her, and one look at Kimberly will tell you running uphill is not something she is going to be able to do so easily. The poor girl will have a heart attack. My advice to her is number one- do something with that huge forehead. Get one of those hats like Kate Winslet wore at the beginning of Titanic and try to hide that thing. Try to pick better songs- I think that "8th World Wonder" had about one verse in it- it got old. Her voice has a very irritating quality to it- so try to calm that down. Poor Kimberly. I hope at least after this album bombs, she might think about going back to school or something, a career she has a chance in. The "singing" career is just not working out for her.

Funny you should mention "our Lord and Savior" in the same breath while "bearing false witness against your neighbor." Nothing you stated has been proven by hard cold evidence, just Internet rumors and gossip.

You might also want to consider the fact that character assassination is "silent murder." So you've also broken the "thou shalt not kill," commandment. If you truly knew the facts you would know that the accusor has been caught time after time again in LIES.

Kelly, Ruben, Clay and Kimberly are wonderful artists. Give them a chance.

I'm glad Kim is coming out with a new album and Clay is, too. Can't wait to here the wonderful sounds from their voices on their new albums and seeing them in person in concert.

I have met Kim many times and she is a wonderful, energetic and down to earth person. There is no reason why she won't go far. I am very excited for the itunes release on July 4th, and hope all the best for her.

Kimberly Locke performed at Minneapolis Pride last month. Let me tell you--- She was GREAT. I wasn't a fan before.. but this girl can sing. The new song is tight too.
Everyone at the concert thought she was amazing.
