Quick Hits: Thom Yorke, Kid Rock, Papa Roach, KT Tunstall, Underoath, Ashlee Simpson, Sublime, The Colour, Daniel Powter, Silversun Pickups
July 19, 2006

As usual, the latest edition of Now! That's What I Call Music! topped the sales charts in its first week in stores, with Vol. 22 selling almost 398,000 copies. Coming in second was Thom Yorke's solo record, The Eraser, with rapper Pimp C debuting at #3 with Pimpalation. Brit rockers Muse debuted at #9 with Black Holes And Revelations.

Kid Rock

After they got engaged and then broke up, it looks like Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson will tie the knot after all. Anderson posted a message on her Web site saying, "I'm finally getting remarried... it's been a whirlwind... spontaneous but well thought through. Feels like I've been stuck in a time warp. Not able to let go of MY family picture... it's been sad and lonely and frustrating... I've raised my kids alone in hope of a miracle. Well my miracle came and went. And came back and came back because he knew that I'd wake up one day and realize that I was waiting for nothing. I'm moving on. I feel like I'm finally free. I'm in love." US Weekly magazine says that the couple will exchange vows on July 29 aboard a yacht near the French Riviera city of St. Tropez, where they have been vacationing.

Papa Roach’s fourth album, The Paramour Sessions, is slated for a September 12 release via Geffen Records. The album was recorded at the Paramour Studios in Los Angeles with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Hoobastank) and mixed by Chris Lorde Alge (Green Day, Switchfoot). The first single, "To Be Loved," will impact radio at the beginning of August. Papa Roach will hit the tour path in the fall.

K.T. Tunstall will return to the U.S. for a month of headlining dates in the early fall in support of her breakthrough album, Eye To The Telescope. The tour kicks off September 8 in Philadelphia and wraps on October 11 in Providence.

As Underoath's Define The Great Line has sold over 155,000 copies in three weeks, the band has announced a Canadian headlining tour for the fall. Underoath will hit the road with Silverstein, Moneen and He Is Legend starting September 14 in Vancouver. Dates are booked through September 28 in Quebec City but more will be announced.

Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson has teamed up with Skechers shoes to appear in a worldwide ad campaign through 2007. Ash joins past spokeswomen like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera who have worn Skechers sport, active and fashion wear in a marketing campaign. The new campaign will launch in late 2006. "I grew up wearing Skechers. Like me, they are not afraid of taking chances and having fun," says Ashlee. "I'm happy to be a part of the brand and hope to add a few more pairs to my closet."

Sublime's classic, self-titled album will be re-released in a tenth anniversary edition, featuring bonus tracks, videos and a different sequence for the album, which late singer Bradley Nowell had at one point intended to use. Sublime - Deluxe Edition will be released on August 15.

L.A. rockers The Colour will hit the road beginning in late August for a full U.S. tour, including a handful of radio shows. Dates are currently scheduled until the end of September, with more to be added.

Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" has become the best-selling digital single of all time in the U.S. with 1,690,814 copies sold. The song spent five consecutive weeks at Number One on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and was the most played song in Europe in 2005, reaching the top spot in 12 countries. Powter's self-titled album has been certified Gold in the U.S. A fall tour is currently being planned.

Buzzed-about band Silversun Pickups will release their new full-length album Carnvavas on Dangerbird Records on July 25.
