Rock Star Supernova Results – Phil Ritchie Eliminated
Brooke Burke announces that last night’s voting drew their biggest numbers yet, up an amazing 15%. Dave Navarro asks Zayra Alvarez where she got an outfit like the one that she wore last night, and she responds that she got it off his wardrobe. Gilby Clarke asks Zayra when they are going to see rock instead of pop from here. Zayra responds “Then I’m going to take that advice and next week you’re going to have it.”
Back at the mansion, Jill Gioia defends her grinding on stage, saying that Gilby Clarke isn’t use to having a woman up there. Gilby Clarke says “I played guitar for Heart. There’s two girls. Ann Wilson has never had to stoop so low as to hump me to try to get her emotions out. I’ve never seen her do that, so hold on let me finish you know, to me all the moves were predictable, I’ve seen it at the Holiday Inn, I’ve seen it every where, show me something I haven’t seen.” Jill Gioia says “Gilby, everything’s been done in rock n’ roll already.” All of Supernova reacts in disbelief to Jill’s comment telling her wrong answer.
Storm Large is selected to perform an encore of “Anything, Anything” by DramaRama. Brooke Burke announces Jill Gioia, Josh Logan and Zayra Alvarez as the bottom three at the end of last nights show. Brooke tells Phil Ritchie and Patrice Pike that they also entered the bottom at some point during last night’s voting. However, the final bottom three turns out to be Patrice Pike, Zayra Alvarez, and Phil Ritchie.
Patrice Pike performs “My Iron Lung” by Radiohead. Zayra Alvarez performs “Not An Addict” by K’s Choice. Phil Ritchie performs “Smoking Umbrellas” by Failure. Gilby Clarke says “Those were three killer performances.” Gilby tells Patrice tonight was “awesome” and she is safe. Gilby tells Zayra that she is certainly original but they are having a hard time imagining her in their band. Gilby tells Phil that was his best performance yet but he’s not sure if Phil wants this. After pulling up a devil horned hood, Tommy Lee tells Phil, “We question your commitment, you’re the next to go.” Phil says “I really did want to win this, and this breaks my heart.”

Great line honey! You are going far in this business of suck-up personalities, music pimps and media whores.
Dave get out of the closed before the door hits you and embrace your homosexuality.

What were they thinking ????? !!!!! We have to suffer through yet another week of Zayra ? Supernova dumped Chris because they noted he had been in the bottom 3 twice, and they said they couldn't ignore that. Apparently visions of blue spandex can be directly linked to symptoms of amnesia. I even checked the Vote for the Worst website that screws with voting on American Idol just in case they were promoting Zayra ! They aren't -- so I'm at a loss why she's getting any votes at all If fans put her in the bottom 3 yet again next week, Tommy should put on a thinking cap instead of a hood with horns and SEND HER HOME !!!!

I don't understand how they could possibly justify Zayra as a choice for lead singer over Phil. His performance tonight was great, especially when compared with hers.
More importantly, it was actually rock, which is supposedly what Supernova is planning to play. They weren't even in the same ballpark.
Although his previous performances haven't been awesome, the song selection process really blows. I like his comment tonight about how the songs they have to choose from aren't really rock. That's kind of a problem when you're trying to find a rockstar.

Everyone in the bottom three deserved to go frankly, but none more than Zayra. Did she learn English three months ago?
I think Monday's episode grouped together the Final Four in my opinion: Dilana, Lucas, Storm and Ryan Star.Until they thin the herd down to these four it's gonna be a dull couple of weeks!

They obviously have a hidden agenda in keeping Zayra - do they need the ratings from Latin Americans? She certainly isn't still there because of any talent, or any suitability for the role. I believe the band have been told by producers to keep her, and until they are given permission to dump her, we will be stuck with her.
I agree it sucks - second choice to go should have been Patrice, she is so boring. Vale Phil

I actually kind of liked Zayara's "second chance" performance, but considering it was her only performance since "Bring Me To Life" (which was okay,i guess. No Amy Lee,of course, but okay)that i could really tolerate, i'm not sure if it was really enough to save her. But it was a surprisingly good performance last night, though, so i guess they couldn't send her home after that. Unfortunately, they sent Phil home (I'd have personally gone for Patrice),though. I mean, i didn't care much about his first couple performances, but i thought he KILLED on "White Rabbit". He definitely showed a lot of improvement over the show already and i was kind of looking forward to seeing what else he could bring;if he could shock me again, but now i can't 'cause he's gone. But that's okay, i'm sure we'll still be seeing him around. I kind of see him more in a Goth/Glam Metal band (good 80s Metal voice, makes scary faces while performing, head bobble:P),anyway.
Anyhow, at least all my favorites are still around for now. Go, Dilana, Lukas & Storm!!!

I recall Brooke commenting last week, that Zayra's mini-blow-out with the band was the number 1 download from MSN.....with that in mind, I believe they have kept her for contraversy reasons. Isn't there an expression in the biz, that there is no such thing as bad press?
Let's face it, all but 1 are eventually going home. This show wants ratings until that time.

I cannot beleive I have to suffer through another week of Zayara! And if she is in the bottom 3 yet again--which she certainly will be-- I have to hear her sing TWICE! My only other comment was that Phil is easier to watch than Josh who grins the same silly grin throughout every single freaking song no matter how serious, although neither of them should make it to the end..

According to folks who were at the taping, Phil got sent off because he told a reporter for his hometown newspaper (the interview was published earlier this month) that he was mainly on the show to generate buzz for his own band and he didn't even like Supernova's music.

Thanks Mike B! It seemed like they were basing their 'questioning his commitment' accusations on inside info that we weren't privy to.

I was surprised and happy at the same time when I realized that others felt the same way I did about Zayra. My daughter and I watch in anticipation every week and were so disappointed to see her get yet another chance. I don't think Phil was right for the band; but if he isn't, then she sure as heck isn't. She sings just like she talks, it's painful to watch and even more painful to hear. My daughter is only 14 and she even sees that it's nothing but sex. She's sexy yeah, but I wouldn't go see her front this band if I had free tickets and a backstage pass. We don't know if we can continue to watch her another week. It's sickening. I don't think she'll make it to the finals, but I don't think I can take another week of her. Rock on Delana, Lukas and Storm.
