We're still confused about Gears of War's release date, but October continues to look likely, especially considering today's announcement that Microsoft's sealed a deal with metal band Megadeth to have Gears of War become the official sponsor for Gigantour.
Lamb Of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Overkill, Into Eternity, Sanctity, and The Smashup will also be appearing on the tour.
Somewhat coincidentally, Gears of War is also a title on the upcoming Megadeth record United Abominations, as confirmed by the band's leader Dave Mustaine on their website. Gigantour will kick off on September 7th in San Diego, California before snaking through North America until October 8th in Sunrise, Florida -- only a few days after the rumored Gears of War release date.
Sheer coincidence? We'll have to wait and see.
