*Songbird Mariah Carey told TV newsmagazine "Access Hollywood" that she is looking to finally do a duet with fellow pop princess Janet Jackson. Record producer Jermaine Dupri, who has done a number of hit tracks for Carey, and incidentally is Jackson's boyfriend, made mention a few weeks ago that he was hoping to record a duet with Janet and Mariah. When asked about such a project, Mariah told "Access,""Jermaine  keeps saying this, but Jermaine has to call me and tell me about it.  I love Janet. Janet is wonderful. I'm a fan. I'll totally do it, but he's got to let me know so we can write the song." When Janet was posed the same question, she coyly replied, "There may be truth to that."

*Three is the magic number, at least for popster Nelly Furtado. Furtado's "Promiscuous" featuring Timbaland hangs on to Billboard's Hot 100 No. 1 spot for the third week. The track also claimed the chart's greatest airplay gainer and remains atop the Pop 100 and Hot Digital Songs charts for a third time each. Meanwhile, with Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" continues takes #2, Cassie's "Me & U" moves up from 4 to 3, and Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef falls to #4, rounding out the Top 5 is Yung Joc's "It's Goin' Down," which is riding No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

*Ludacris is looking for his #1 album, and told MTV that he believes his new project will fulfill his dream. The disc, titled "Release Therapy," is slated for a September 26 street date. "I feel like I'm there after this one," Luda told the music channel. "I say it on a song too." Like every story, the disc has two sides: Release and Therapy. Although Luda was bummed the technology of CDs don't really create a two-sided package.

*Rapper Pharoahe Monch is heading across the pond for a number of concert dates. Monch will be in Europe pumping the release of his new single overseas and to perform the shows. The gig kicks off this Saturday and includes stops in Belgium, France, UK, Amsterdam, and Germany. "Let's Go," the new single from his disc "Desire," will release while he's hanging in Europe, although it has already been leaked here in the states, SOHH.com reports. The album is scheduled to hit records stores later this year.

*Darling little Chris Brown wants to shake his angelic image. The singer told reporters that he's looking for some serious and gritty movie roles. "I'm looking at some serious roles that would take me out of the kiddie - well, not kiddie - but the sweet Chris Brown that everybody knows," he said. "It would be more of a life-challenging Chris Brown, like how 50 Cent's story was [in 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'], more along the lines of playing a role like that."
