Kasabian will follow-up its critically-acclaimed self-titled debut with Empire, which will hit store shelves September 19, via RCA Records.
The album was produced by Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Placebo, Paul Oakenfold and it took just five weeks to record the bulk of the disc. According to the band, the new disc is a more personal, darker record – a memoir of two years on the road.
Frontman Tom Meighan describes the eponymous opening track, “Empire,” as “Marc Bolan smoking crack with Dr Who.”
The group will be touring North America in support of the new disc following several gigs opening for the Rolling Stones. The band will also perform at the V Festival in the U.K.
