Glover to fill Home Truths slot

The as-yet-unnamed programme will begin next month

BBC Radio 4 presenter Fi Glover is to succeed the late John Peel in the Saturday morning slot formerly occupied by his Home Truths series.

Glover, currently on maternity leave from Sunday morning news programme Broadcasting House, will start hosting a 9am one-hour show from September.

Various shows have filled the slot since Home Truths ended in June 2006.

The show, exploring the lives of its listeners, launched in 1998 and was hosted by Peel until his death in 2004.

Guest presenters continued fronting the show until it was dropped.

Radio 4 controller Mark Damazer said at the time: "John's personality was bound up in Home Truths, and now it's time to look for a different programme."

Glover began hosting Broadcasting House in 2004, having previously spent five years at Five Live.
