Dive into two local seafood festivals
Sunday, August 13, 2006

Seafood fans can please their palates this weekend at two Chesapeake Bay seafood festivals.

First up: the 26th Annual Havre De Grace Seafood Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday at Tydings Memorial Park.

The family event will feature the popular Chesapeake Bay crab cake challenge and a crab-calling contest (didn't know they had ears?) as well as artisans, live entertainment and a charity auction.

Tydings Park is on Commerce Street. Hours for the free event are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Call 410-939-1525 for details.

An all-you-can-eat menu is the draw of the creatively titled 27th Annual Seafood Feast-I-Val from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge.

For $30 tickets for adults ($10 for children) visitors can feast on a menu featuring steamed crabs, fresh fish and fried clams among other treats. Live entertainment and artisan booths round out the fun.

Sailwinds Park is at 200 Byrn St. For more information, call 410-228-1211 or go to www.seafoodfeastival.com.
