Marques Houston Finishes New Album
August 14, 2006
R&B crooner Marques Houston is putting the finishing touches on his latest release Veteran.
According to billboard.com, the album will feature guest appearances from Shawnna, Mya, and Young Joc as well as production by the Underdogs, Bryan Michael Cox, and Rufus Black.
“I think this is the first album that reflects who I am as an artist and as a man,” Houston told the site. “There’s a lot that I’ve been through as far as relationships and just experiencing life. I’m only 25, but I’m a veteran because I’ve been in the industry since I was 8, and I’ve watched the changes.”
Houston said that his first album served as his introduction to the music game, while his second was more of a “coming-of-age” project that reflected his maturity. However, this latest disc delves more into his soul, he reports.
Houston will also appear alongside Omarion in the upcoming film Somebody Help Me, which was written by Chris Stokes, manager to both singers and the mastermind behind 2004’s You Got Served.
Veteran hits shelves November 14. Omarion’s disc 21 is due October 3.
