Trina Stands By Her Man, T-Pain Reveals His Top 10, Baby Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is, Star Rocks Out
Friday - August 4, 2006 by Carl Chery
In this week's Pulse Report, Trina beefs with Khia, Gillie Da Kid and B.G., T-Pain wants to beat Macy Gray, Oprah, and Mo'Nique and Baby gets a grill for a half-a-mill.
1. Trina beefs with Khia, Gillie Da Kid and B.G. Unlike some of her femcee counterparts, Trina has always steered clear of drama. But now the Diamond Princess apparently has a bone to pick with quite a few people. On "What's Beef," Trina re-samples Big's classic record and borrows its concept as she takes shots at Khia, B.G. and Gillie Da Kid. "I used to like you, before you started jumping on the dick/ with Trick you doing all of my left over shit/You get the left over hits/so bitch get on the bandwagon or get left over, bitch," Trina warns Khia on the first verse. Surprisingly, the self-proclaimed "baddest bitch" comes off with a few funny lines on both hooks, offering, "Beef is when a bitch titties lookin like they sleep/beef is when them hoes looking like dirty sheets" on the first hook and "Beef is when the dope make the niggas fall asleep/beef is when you sound like a motherfucking sheep" on the second. Trina also calls B.G. a "Cash Money reject" and claims that Gillie isn't from Philly.
Speaking of the kid, he recently appeared on MTV's "Direct Effect" alongside The Clipse. While The Clipse denied that "Mr. Me Too" is based on Lil' Wayne, Gillie hinted that rappers have been jacking the Virginia duo, sporting A Bathing Ape gear and all.
2. T-Pain wants to bone Macy Gray, Oprah and Mo'Nique. Ladies, in case you didn't know it, rapper turned singer T-Pain has been trying to get to "you and that monkey." While those lyrics, taken from E-40's "U and Dat" (My Ghetto Report Card), don't target anyone in particular, the crooner recently listed his hit list for Ozone magazine. Interestingly, typical hood favorites like Beyonce, Christina Millian, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan didn't make his list. Instead, T-Pain revealed that he'd like to shag Macy Gray, Oprah, Mo'Nique, Al Bundy's wife, Peggy and Pam Grier, but only from the back. "She could get it, but only from the back cause something's wrong with her face," T-Pain told Ozone. But what about Macy Gray? Ain't nobody fuckin' with her, so we can have good clean fun. I know she's nasty. Other women on his list included Queen Latifah, Charlie Baltimore, Hilary Duff, Mila Jovavich and Shawnna.
3. Baby puts half a mill on a grill. In case there were any doubts, Baby made it clear that he's still the numero uno stunna. Cash Money's boss recently took out his $250,000 grill and replaced it with a stuntastic $500,000 mouthpiece. The fronts were provided by celebrity jeweler Chris Aire. Word is the procedure took four hours and Baby is to brush his new teeth with a special toothpaste to prevent scratches. Precautions have also been taken should the grill get damaged. Word is Baby took a $700,000 insurance policy on the piece of jewelry.
4. Star to return to radio. When Star was terminated from New York's Power 105.1, many thought he would never be able to return to radio. Well, the shock jock recently announced that he'd be back on the air before the end of the year. But don't expect him to run to his former home, Hot 97 or find an obscure hip-hop station in the middle of the country. While he's been receiving plenty of offers, rappers can now rest because Star claims he's done with hip-hop. "I'm through with hip-hop radio," Star told the New York Daily News. "It's not really my music, especially now that I'm 42. It's someone else's, and I'm more of a rock kid anyway. "But also, I'm not sure you're ever taken seriously on a hip-hop station," he added. "There's a stigma attached to it, and I want people to know I have things to say. I don't need to be on a decoy station."
5. Luda gets a fresh cut. First Busta Rhymes, now Luda. If you haven't heard yet, the mouth of the south recently cut his braids off. Peep it for yourself.
