(Madison, WI) -- 2/8/06 -- Ben Folds is coming to the Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, March 11 at 8:00pm in support of his newly released album, "Songs for Silverman."

Ben Folds' career has been impeccable. Despite achieving major radio airplay with the post-abortion ballad "Brick," Folds has maintained his cool; staying as appealing to the underground masses as the mall goers. In fact, it might be easy to say that if you really like music, you can't help but love Ben Folds.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 11 at 10 AM through the Orpheum, Ticketmaster, by phone at (608) 255-4646, or online at www.FrankProductions.com

Chris Mills has been chosen by Ben Folds to support his upcoming U.S. tour, beginning March 4th in Seattle and ending March 18th in Ann Arbor.

In the fall of 2005, Mills had set out to do something rare in this century with the release of The Wall to Wall Sessions (Ernest Jenning / Powerless Pop). During a blizzard in the Midwest, Mills recorded "a testament to the communal spirit of the Chicago underground" (Chicago Sun-Times) by assembling a17-piece ‘indie rock big band' with friends / musicians ranging from Nora O'Connor (New Pornographers) to Dave Max Crawford (Sea and Cake). They rehearsed and recorded the album in a mere two-and-a-half days, performing live while simultaneously mixing to a two-track tape machine, putting to use the studio's orchestra pit and 30-foot ceilings. There were no overdubs and all vocals were live.

"I wanted to see if I could take things a little bit farther and make something a little larger sonically, perhaps even something grand," says Mills. "Something like the Phil Spector sound I've always loved, but combined with the imagery of bands like Neutral Milk Hotel or the Flaming Lips."

"Chris Mills set out to make an album in the grand Phil Spector tradition," said Bob Gendron of the Chicago Tribune. "An organic power-pop creation awash in lush waltzes, dynamic strings and swanky horns, his The Wall to Wall Sessions reaches its goal. The Chicago artist gets lost in a sea of country-western swagger and swooning harmony, surfacing above the arrangements with resonate singing and vivid dreams."

Chris Mills has been touring the U.S. and England non-stop since the release of The Wall to Wall Sessions and will be busting out the solo electric guitar for the upcoming Ben Folds support dates.
