Jazze Pha Judges Amateur Producers In SOHH.com's "The Set"

Friday - August 18, 2006 by Jolene "foxxylady" Petipas

Jazze Pha

Best known for jump-starting the career of R&B sensation Ciara, multi-platinum hitmaker Jazze Pha will serve as the judge of the third episode of SOHH.com's The Set premiering today (August 18).

Launched in February in association with myspace.com, The Set gives four rookie producers the chance to have their best beats critiqued by established producers via 3 minute video webisodes. Previous judges of the competition have included Swizz Beatz and DJ Toomp.

Aside from critiquing a beat of an aspiring Nashville producer in the today's episode, Pha also reveals how he discovered Ciara and discusses his recent success with Atlanta-bred R&B collective Cherish.

"I met her [Ciarra] before she even recorded a record and knew she was a star," Jazze told SOHH.

In addition to the aformentioned artists, the Atlanta-based beat maker has also worked with Ludacris, T.I., Cee Lo, Field Mob, OutKast, Young Jeezy, Lil' Wayne, Angie Stone and Nelly, among others.

In related news , Pha's production will be heard on Trina's upcoming fourth album, titled The Baddest Bitch II, set for release in December 19.

Pha also recently signed singer Lloyd of Murder Inc fame to his Sho-Nuff Records imprint, which includes a roster of Jody Breeze, Big Zak, Tone Tone, and Nephu, alongside Ciara and Cherish. He will also play a huge role in Too Short's upcoming sixteenth album, Blow The Whistle, which is set for on August 29 release date.
