Kid- Powered Hurricane Relief

Des Moines, August 23, 2006 - A kid- powered hurricane relief effort raised millions Wednesday for hurricane victims. The organization, called Random Kids, was started by 10- year- old Iowan Thalia Lehman.

More than 5,000 schools around the country called in during a national teleconference.  One school participating was the Acedemy in Des Moines. Each school called in with how much money they're donating. The group ended up raising more than $10 million.
