WALTHAM, Mass. -- A long-time Waltham middle school teacher accused of child rape is out on bail. Prosecutors said Robert Dacey lured students by telling them they were needed at his home to "test" a Mafia female masseuse-in-training. Dacey was released Thursday on $25,000 bail and ordered to home confinement in his sister's Belmont home. He also has to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.
Prosecutors allege Dacey offered the teens a massage in his home, blindfolded them, then sexually assaulted them. The 49-year-old is a drama teacher at the McDevitt Middle School and assistant coach of three sports at Waltham High School. He pleaded not guilty last month to two counts of child rape. Investigators said all three male victims were teens at the time of the alleged abuse that happened over a span of several years.
