North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Monroeville is kicking off its new youth group program with two events.
The senior high kickoff will be on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., with all ninth- through 12th-graders invited. They are encouraged to bring baseball gloves. A picnic and games will be held.
The junior high kickoff, an ice cream social with games, will be on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Joann Giuffre, the new youth minister, is working on a new Web site for youth activities.
Also at North American Martyrs:
Holy Hour will be held on Monday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.
The PTG of North American Martyrs Catholic School will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 12, for an open house at 7 p.m. A business meeting will start at 7:45. Refreshments will be served.

Flea market
An outdoor flea market will be held at Monroeville United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Call Karen at the church office, 412-372-7474, to rent a table for $10.
The flea market will take place in the fellowship hall if the weather is bad.
The youth of the church are sponsoring the event to raise money for a mission trip. Their spring flea market helped fund a summer mission trip to West Virginia.
Bethel UP campaign
Bethel United Presbyterian Church on Beatty Road in Monroeville is having a 40 Days of Purpose campaign, starting on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m.
The event is centered on the popular Rick Warren book, "The Purpose Driven Life."
The campaign continues that evening with a Connection event at 5:30 p.m., a preview of the campaign and what it entails.
Sermons will incorporate themes from Warren's book, devotional readings will be assigned, Scripture verses will be memorized and small groups will meet for instruction.

New Testament women
St. Bernadette Catholic Church will hold a program called "Women of the New Testament: An Evening of Reflection with Mary Ann Getty-Sullivan."
Getty-Sullivan is a nationally known author and a retired professor of Scripture at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
She will discuss how biblical women were changed by Jesus.
The event will be held twice on Wednesday, Sept. 20 -- from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Pancake breakfast
Trinity Lutheran Church on Haymaker Road is having a community pancake breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children age 10 or younger.
The Women of Trinity are sponsoring the breakfast along with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
