Ah, will the Guns N' Roses feuding never end? MTV.com reports that on Friday, March 3, Axl Rose filed a lawsuit against his ex-bandmate Slash, seeking a federal judge's confirmation of Rose's "ownership of his own creative works." The suit comes in response to a federal suit that was filed by Slash and bassist Duff McKagan in August, in which they accused the GN'R frontman of changing the publisher of the group's copyrighted songs without first conferring with them and then pocketing the royalties. There's no word on the amount of damages that Rose's lawsuit seeks. A new statement issued in the wake of the suit says that "Slash has continually made negative and malicious statements about Axl [in the press] in order to garner publicity for himself" and that both musicians have made "numerous false allegations about Axl. Mr. Rose believes that once apprised of the true facts, the judge or jury deciding these lawsuits will rule in Axl's favor on every issue before them."

Madonna

Madonna has reportedly told the April issue of Out magazine that her 9-year-old daughter Lourdes asked her if she was gay because she kissed Britney Spears on the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. "(Lourdes) is really obsessed with who is gay," Madonna says in the interview. "And she even asked, 'Mom, you know they say that you are gay?' And I'm, 'Oh, do they? Why?' And she says, 'Because you kissed Britney Spears.'
And I said, 'No, it just means I kissed Britney Spears. I am the mommy pop star and she is the baby pop star, and I am kissing her to pass my energy on to her.'"

Outkast's Andre 3000 has created a new animated series for the Cartoon Network. Class Of 3000 will debut this November with a one-hour special with a dozen half-hour episodes to follow, according to Billboard. Andre will provide the voice of the main character.

This week, Fall Out Boy is offering a sneak peak of their upcoming CD From Under The Cork Tree: Limited Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour Edition via Clear Channel's online on-demand program, which is featured on over 120 station Web sites. Until this Friday, listeners can hear alternate versions of Fall Out Boy songs as well as new tracks before the album hits stores on March 14. Check it out at ClearChannelMusic.com.

A new music festival will be held in Sturgis, SD this summer to coincide with the huge Sturgis Bike Week that draws thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to the town every summer. The inaugural Rock'n The Rally festival will be held from August 6 to 10 and will feature Aerosmith, Sammy Hagar, Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Steve Miller, Cheap Trick, Steppenwolf, REO Speedwagon, Foghat and more, according to Billboard.com. Concert production company Dork Fish is in the process of building a permanent amphitheater on a 34-acre site at the Glencoe Camp Resort that will house the concert.

Hoobastank

In addition to their new single "If I Were You," Hoobastank has posted another new song on their Web site, Hoobastank.com, for fans to hear. The other new track is called "Born To Lead." Both songs will appear on the upcoming album Every Man For Himself, due out on May 16.

Now that singer Brett Scallions has exited Fuel, the band is opening up the audition process to the public. The band has posted a version of the song "Hemorrhage" with no vocals on FuelWeb.com, and wannabe singers are invited to download it, record their own vocals and send it back to the band. "We have the record written and ready to go," says a posting on the Web site. "Just need to find the right guy to be Fuel's new lead singer."

Head Automatica has announced another round of tour dates, in advance of the band's sophomore album Popaganda. The new set of shows begin March 21 in Athens, GA and wrap in Farmingdale, NY on April 5. The band will also be on the road opening part of Coheed & Cambria and Avenged Sevenfold's co-headlining tour. "Graduation Day," the likely lead single from Popaganda, is currently streaming on Head Automatica's MySpace page.

Underoath is set to release their third album on June 20. The CD is still untitled. "This is the record we've been striving to write for the past five years, and I never thought I'd see the day when it actually happened," says guitarist Tim McTague. "I can't wait for everyone to hear what we've been creating for the past few months, but in the end, if everyone hated it, we'd still think it's probably the best record we may ever be a part of."

A federal judge has ordered Rod Stewart to pay a Las Vegas casino more than $3 million for a show that he canceled in December 2000, according to the Chicago Tribune. Stewart's lawyer said the singer plans to appeal the verdict, which awards Harrah's $3.06 million, including the $2 million advance he was paid by the hotel-casino to perform the show.

Up-and-coming band The Academy Is... will challenge their fans in the latest Xbox Live "Game With Fame" session. The Chicago group will be online on March 10 under the gamertag "theacademyisGWF."
