Alice in Chains!

Pleased with Them Bones, def. Best song on the Street Fighter II anime soundtrack, if you ask me. Which you didn't.

At least three or four showstopper here...

... now, who wants to do the final part of the Sweet Child of Mine solo? It is probably the fastest solo featured in this and the first game...

/me caresses his real Gibson, and gives the SCoM solo another try...
boo

I think you'll find that YYZ was performed by Rush, rather than the little-known Rushn.
04-Sep-06 16:02:40
The inclusion of Spinal Tap is inspired. Made my day, that has.
04-Sep-06 16:06:49
Looked great, untill i read avenged sevenfold, WHY MUST I SUFFER CRAP!
04-Sep-06 16:06:55
plus it comes with the cherry gibson guitar, meaing i'll have to buy the new guitar, HAVE TO!
04-Sep-06 16:08:49
Surely the final solo in bark at the moon is faster? It's basically as fast as the game can go on Expert level

Dick Dale - Misirlou

Good choice!

(doesn't make it a good game but still....)

If there's a solo faster than Bark at the Moon on expert, then I'll eat my cut-off denim waistcoat.
04-Sep-06 16:21:12
Alice in Chains - Them Bones

YEEEEES!

That, Freebird and YYZ are my most anticipated tracks on GH2.

Lamb Of God, now thats a freekin awsome surprise, fuck yes!

Personally I think Avenged Sevenfold is also another awsome addition, but each to their own.
The songs both classic and new on this version seem to be getting awsomer by the second, cant wait.

yeah, sorry Neuroniky, I've just compared the two solos...

Bark at the moon is definitely quicker.. it sounds like it might even be sweep-picking in reality, whereas SCoM, whilst its quicker than I remembered, is definitely hammers and pulls

The thing is (and I keep bashing this point with everyone), it really doesn't have to be a list of songs we like, so much as it should be songs that have good riffs in them. Thus far its mostly good, but the sight of John the Fisherman still makes me deeply angry...

It's such blatant pandering to the dickhead elitists on the forums... whether you like Primus or not, you can't argue that its a great guitar track, it sounds like a swarm of kittens running up and down a fretboard, pure random note run garbage.

Fortunately, Spinal Tap and Killing in the Name make it all better :)

@ManicMinerUk: SCoM has a big sweep scale in the middle (which is a nightmare to play right, if I may add), and the final HO-PO is very fast but similar to a part of Crossroads solo, but the second part of the solo features a lot of scales intertwined with HO and PO that if renditioned note per note as Bark of the Moon solo I think they can be very hard, since they are much more irregular. The final solo of Bark at the Moon is much easier to play, while the first one has the sweep part which is as hard as it gets. But my impression is that the SCoM solo was faster in the end but if you've done the comparision I'm sure you're right.

@ManicMinerUk: KILLING IN THE NAME??????
I want to play bass on that!!!!
04-Sep-06 16:40:25
Killing In The Name??? Where??? NEEDAGE. Although I prefer the solo in Know Your Enemy.

And Message In A Bottle is a much appreciated addition. They should pull out the shite like GnR though :)
04-Sep-06 16:41:25
It would be amazing if Hatebreeder by Chidren of Bodom was on it. The solos would be mental though, but fun :)
04-Sep-06 16:47:46
No love for Slayer? Bit of Angel Of Death would do nicely I think :-D

And now I've got that Spinal Tap song stuck in my head!
04-Sep-06 16:53:49
Butthole Surfers LOL That should have it off Woolies shelves before you can say 'Locust Abortion technician" or "Hairway to Stephen" :/
04-Sep-06 17:03:11
"Heart - Crazy On You" - It's a good song, but why didn't they choose Barracuda(Heart/Album: Little Queen) that would have been perfect for GH2.

Still the song list is spectacular so far, maybe with the intro to "Van Halen - You Really Got Me" they could have you play "Erruption". Now that would be GH chaos in a very good way.
04-Sep-06 17:04:29
Still really needs some Iron Maiden, but that's probably too expensive or something. Same for (old) Metallica.

But yeah, some Rage Against the Machine would be awesome.
04-Sep-06 17:05:33
Heh, just notice Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name isn't on that list...

The GH forums are treating it as confirmed though... no-one is even questioning that it will be on there after some guy from a magazine described watching one of RO's QA staff playing it :)
04-Sep-06 17:31:21
Hehe, I was just going to post something along the lines of "Wow, Alice in Chains, now that takes me back, Them Bones has a killer riff, etc" but it seems I am far from alone :)

A real mixed bag there. The fellow guitarists among you might agree that Message in a Bottle has a great main melody (and is surprisingly complex on the drums I might add, given its quite a light song at first glance). War Pigs is also a great and obvious choice (daaaaa da da daaaaa daa didldidldidldidldidl).
04-Sep-06 17:55:25
I would have preferred Sludge Factory; but Them Bones will do. =]
04-Sep-06 18:23:35
Cuh dear, I don't want to play 'Heart Shaped Box'! GH2 is about celebrating life via the medium of overlong and elaborate guitar solos, not getting ready to top oneself! Gah!

;)

Working on a sex farm. Getting out my pitchfork. Poking your hay!

:-)
04-Sep-06 21:37:13
Needs more cowbell.
04-Sep-06 21:44:53
Is this going to be in Dobly?
04-Sep-06 22:22:10
/hoping for one (1) acoustic track. Please?

/crossing fingers

KISS KISS KISS. Shame they always have the same song every time, I can only take so much of Strutter. It's a great song, but after 100 hours of it on San Andreas, I got a bit sick of it.
05-Sep-06 08:24:46
Ciaran: Well, I can remember three off the top of my head in GH, so I think you have hope. Although I don't know if many people would like to hear the Breaking Wheel again. :)
05-Sep-06 08:36:30
Damn. I was hoping for 'Sex Farm'.
05-Sep-06 10:36:58
To Kangarooto

All Police songs have insanely complex drum parts, because Copeland is a god and beyond the realms of normal humanity.
05-Sep-06 10:54:19
There be the truth (the bugger).
06-Sep-06 08:11:07
"Working on a sex farm, getting out my pitch fork, poking your hay" or "I met her on Monday twas my lucky bun day.....big bottom.....That is what we need to be playing....it's very hard to dust for vomit!

OH YEAH!
