Bedouin Soundclash

Bedouin Soundclash couldn't have picked a more apt name, and that's no backhanded compliment. The sounds and styles they employ do indeed clash, but the effortless, seamless way the Toronto-based trio pulls it all together belies this fundamental truth. On the heels of Sounding a Mosaic, their most recent on Montreal's Stomp Records, Bedouin's charge into town for Osheaga follows a successful Montreal Jazz Festival appearance and most recently a set of dates in the U.K. It also immediately precedes a crazy September, October and November which has them supporting Flogging Molly, Zox, Gogol Bordello and Danko Jones. Currently, their video for Gyasi Went Home, filmed in Guyana, is playing in heavy rotation at Much, just one of the many signs that the Juno winners - they won Best New Group this year in Halifax - are only getting started.

Good show

I was at Osheaga as a volunteer and I loved every minute of it. My main attraction for Sunday was Bedouin Soundclash. Despite the weather, they put on a great show. It was drizzling slightly as they played, but the crowd was still there. They brought in the Jamaican artist (I cant remember his name) for 2-3 songs, and it was lots of fun. You can see how Bedouin is such a diverse and open band... They finished with 'When the Night feels my Song', which was everyone's favourite...
I am glad I got to see them as I had missed their previous concert in Montreal some months back.. I will see them again
