
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Eyed Peas and
Nickelback each received three nominations for the American Music Awards, People
Magazine reports.
Carey, was nominated for favorite female artist in both the pop/rock and
soul/rhythm & blues categories, as well as for favorite soul/rhythm &
blues album, for The Emancipation of Mimi.
Nine artists received two nominations each: Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kanye
West, Jamie Foxx, T.I., Rascal Flatts, Pussycat Dolls, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie
Underwood.
Winners will be picked by a survey of about 20,000 listeners. The awards
will be given out in a Nov. 21 ceremony in Los Angeles that will be broadcast
live on ABC from the Shrine Auditorium.
The 2006 ceremony sees veteran acts like Red Chili Peppers and Nickelback
going head to head with the cast of the hot Disney Channel movie 'High School
Musical'.
Around 20,000 music fans will pick the winners. The event will take place at
the Shrine Auditorium on November 21.
