Rapper Cassidy is in critical condition after being involved in a serious car accident on Wednesday night. The rapper was riding in an SUV, which was struck by a U-Haul truck that swerved into traffic. Reports say that Cassidy suffered a fractured skull and several broken bones on the left side of his face. The other passengers in the vehicle were unharmed.

(+44)

Bad news for (+44) fans awaiting the band's debut album and tour. It has been revealed that drummer Travis Barker recently broke his arm while filming the video for their new single, "When Your Heart Stops Beating." He further injured the arm during a promotional tour of Europe. According to a statement, Barker has been ordered by doctors to rest his arm for eight weeks. No official statement has been made regarding the band's fall North American tour, which is scheduled to begin next Friday, October 13 in San Diego. Barker writes on his MySpace blog that tests showed that he had "been playing with a broken arm for three weeks and/or a possible tumor in my arm." Barker adds that he won't be playing on upcoming (+44) shows but he is attempting to learn how to play with one arm.

Legendary director Martin Scorcese is working on a documentary on The Rolling Stones and will be filming their New York concerts on October 29 and 31. Scorcese has no set title or release date for the film, according to MTV.com, but his new movie The Departed lands in theaters this weekend.

A new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibition on The Clash is set to open on Friday, October 20. "Revolution Rock: The Story of the Clash" will include instruments, rare memorabilia and other items from "the only band that matters" and will remain open until mid-April of next year. Former Clash members Mick Jones and Terry Chimes, as well as Joe Strummer's widow Lucinda Mellor, will all attend the opening of the exhibit. A new Clash box set, simply titled The Singles, will be released on October 31 and include every one of the band's singles, along with a 44-page booklet of new essays from Pete Townshend, The Edge, Mike D., Damon Albarn, Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters and others.

Now that he's reached that #1 spot again, Ludacris has added another role to the acting side of his resume. The rapper/actor has joined the cast of Fred Claus, a new holiday-themed film starring Vince Vaughn, Kevin Spacey and Paul Giamatti. Luda (real name: Chris Bridges) plays an angry elf, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Also heading to the silver screen is Dave Matthews, who has nabbed a role in the drama Lake City. Matthews will appear opposite Sissy Spacek and Troy Garity in the film and The Hollywood Reporter says the musician will play the villain of the story. Matthews has previously appeared in lighter, family-oriented fare such as Because Of Winn-Dixie.

A new Michael Jackson box set of DualDiscs will be released on November 14. Visionary - The Video Singles will collect 20 of the King of Pop's biggest hit singles, with the song on one side and its video on the other. Billboard reports that the song's original B-side or a remix will also appear on the CD side of the disc.

Last week's AFI concert in Long Beach, CA was filmed for the band's first live DVD. The Bay Area band is asking their fans to submit photos with members of the group for a gallery of pictures to be included on the DVD. AFI just released "Love Like Winter" as the follow-up single to their smash hit "Miss Murder."

P.O.D. will put out Greatest Hits (The Atlantic Years) as their final release for Atlantic Records on November 21. It will include the new track "Going In Blind" and the previously unreleased "Here We Go," according to MTV.com.

Up-and-coming band Rose Hill Drive has been tapped by Pete Townshend to open seven dates for The Who. The Colorado trio will open for the Rock icons next week in Vancouver, Portland, OR and Seattle, then again for two nights at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on November 4 and 5 and two more CA gigs.
