The Secret Sister: Chapter Two
-Caitlyn* Chapter Two (Elvie) I sat in the kitchen eating some toast that I had covered with strawberry flavored cream cheese. This was my normal breakfast every morning, because since Grandma has been feeling sick lately, I've been making it on my own and other than cereal this is the most I can make without burning the crap out of it. My grandmother's house was a nice little place. Very comfy. Big enough for me, grandma and Curly. While I finished my toast and juice, I had the TV on in the kitchen and I was writing in my journal. I normally do this and write poems. It's the only thing I have that I can do to get my voice heard. Being mute isn't the highlight of my time, but I have to deal with it. I saw on TV they mentioned Paris Jackson and her up coming movie. I've been told since I was very young I looked just like her, I just never thought about it till I was older. Me and her share the same birthday, too. It's actually funny when you think about it, well think about it hard I suppose. I'm just so jealous. She is so much prettier than I am. I took one more bite of my toast and kept writing. We look the same. Yet different in many ways. You are light, I am dark. My soul is shameful, while yours is purity. For somehow I believe you and I are linked. But the linked has been in trouble since the first time we've entered the vast world. At times I want to meet you, then at times I believe why would you waste time on me. For an angel and a demon cannot live nor see each other without trouble. I closed my journal just as I heard Curly's nails going across the floor. I smiled at the little black, Poodle. He must be hungry because he went straight to his food bowl. Shaking my head I got up to get his food, got the bag out of the pantry, walked back over to him and got a bowl full of his Kibbles n Bits. I placed it back down near his water bowl and checked to see if he had water. He did. Grandma should be waking up soon. I smiled some and tore a piece of paper out of my journal. I wrote my grandmother a note for when she wakes up. I rubbed Curly's head before climbing out of the kitchen window to the back staircase. Okay, I forgot to mention, Grandma's house is an apartment. And this staircase is a very great way to sneak out one day, I suppose so. Just for now, I just have some place to be. Normal. Darlene Harrison woke up to hearing the kitchen window open and close. She smiled some and got up, knowing who it was. "Lord," Darlene said sighing softly. "That girl will be the death of me one day. Just wouldn't change a thing about her." Darlene walked out of her bedroom and straight to the kitchen. She smiled seeing that Elvie had had her breakfast, she fed Curly and remembered to turn the TV off this time, she also saw she left a note. Darlene shuffled over to the table to pick it up and read it. "Dearest grandmother, You will be fully awake probably by the time you read this, or you might be awake once I get home. If so, you can stop reading this letter now and just do what you normally do. Whatever that is? If not, I have fed Curly and made sure everything is how you had before. I'll be back soon, so don't begin to worry. I'm just going to my secret place to think. I love you grandmother. -Elvie**" Darlene shook her head before taking a a seat and turning on the news. She never knew what Elvie was going to do next. She just wouldn't have her any other way. _________________________________________________________________ Until next time..
