Michael became the lead singer of the Jackson Five when he was 5. After playing many gigs around the Chicago area, and in New York, they got noticed. They signed with Motown Records in 1969, when Michael was only 11 years old. They have recorded hit records & have gained millions of fans. Michael Jackson recorded his first solo album in 1971. It was titled "Got To Be There".
