September-Part 1
*Hey guys! This is Mary Cait. I hope you all like this new story I am writing. I know this isn't in story form, cause I thought about doing it in my old way of writing it. I hope you all like this. I am doing "God Gave Me You" and "SkyScraper" I just need to get some ideas for them that's all. Till then, enjoy. If you like it of course. Love, ~Mary Cait* ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Half the time passed away All the trouble that we gave And all those days we spent out by the lake Has it all gone to waste? All the promises we made One by one they vanished just the same... All the things I still remember Summers never looked the same Years go by and time just seems to fly But the memories remain In the middle of September We still play out in the rain Nothing to lose but everything to gain Reflecting now how things could've been It was worth it in the end" ~~September by Daughtry ---------------------------------------------------------------- I sat on my rocking chair outside my house I've lived in for a long time, my white hair was shinning in the sunlight watching my grandchildren play around in the yard in front of me. My daughter Hailey was sitting on the front step with my grandson Michael. Michael. That is a name I haven't heard of in a long time. Everytime I think, I remember that September day when I was just a young girl...probably around my granddaughter Alex age. And she is seventeen, soon to be eighteen in the next few days. It is very hard to believe she was born on the day the accident happen. I should just stop worrying about the past and think to the future. I was lost in my own world when I felt someone pulling on my pants leg. I looked downed to see my little grandson looking up at me with a picture in his hand. I picked him up and placed him on my lap. Me: What is baby? Michael: *Showing me the picture* Who this? Me: Who is who? Hailey: I think he means the guys in the picture with you and daddy. Me: *Takes the picture from Michael, looking at it close* Oh, my...I forgot this even existed. Hailey: Who is that guy Mama. I don't remember him. Me: He died way before you were born baby. Actually...he died when we were still teenagers. And on the day of Alex's birth. Hailey: Tell me. I want to know Mama... Me: I don't know baby...I don't know. Hailey: Please. Michael: Yeah, please. Me: *Sighing* Okay, okay. Where do I start? *Remembering* It was early September, the starting of it I believe...me and your father, when we were still friends then, were just walking on the train tracks- ************************************** Xander: *Looking at me walking on the rail* Don't fall. I'd hate to tell your mama and daddy why their daughter got killed by the train. Me: Shut up, Xander. I'm not gonna get killed by the stupid train. Xander: How would you know? Have you ever had to try and out run that thing!? Me: No because mainly I have a brain, you don't. Xander: I have a brain, just choose not to use it most of the time. Me: You know, Xand, one day your dare devilness is going to hurt someone. Xander: You worry too much. Me: I worry the right amount, thank you very much. Xander: *Rolls his eyes at me* Me: Don't you dare roll them eyes at me Alexander Nathan Price! I'll smack them out- As I was about to finish what I said, I hadn't realize the train was coming at me and Xander fast. I jumped off the rails and me and him took off running. I have to say, now I know what he meant about when he said it's not easy to out run this train...it's pretty quick. While we were running, my foot got got in-between the two wood pieces. Xander didn't figure it out and continued to run as I tried to break free. Stupid, stupid boot! I looked at the train and made sure I still had enough time to get free, I did...I just had to hurry real quick-never mind...I have to speed it up. I continued to try and get free, but it didn't work fully. My heart was beating fast, my hands were shaking so bad! I looked back at the train and saw I didn't have long till I was hit by it! Me: *Trying to pull free* Come on! Come on! I continued to pull until my foot finally came out of my boot. I was so happy, yet I was afraid because the train was inches from me. I closed my eyes and got ready for my death. Only...it never happened. Why? It never happened because I was tackled to the other side of the tracks by someone other then Xander. I know...they didn't smell like smoke. They smelt like fresh flowers mixed with men body spray. I had my eyes closed until I didn't hear the train anymore. I opened my eyes when I knew it was gone, looking around to see who it was that saved me. I turned around and saw a young boy with smooth, light brown skin. He had curly hair, deep brown eyes you could get lost in. He wore a white tank top, shorts, and a pair of sneakers. Boy: You alright? Me: Y-yeah...I'm alright. Boy: You sure? You look like a ghost, girl. Me: Well...you'd lose your color, too...if you almost got killed by a train... Boy: Yeah...you're right about that. I'd be more light then I already am. Me: *Giggles a bit* Boy: *Chuckles looking at me* What? Me: What you said. Boy: Oh, *Laughs a bit* it's ture though. Me: I'm Opal. Boy: That's a cool name. Me: Well...my name is Candice-Maire Opal Lemmons. Boy: I still think it's a cool name. My name is Michael, Michael Joesph Jackson. Me: *Smiles* Nice to meet you. Michael: You too. Me:.... Michael:.... Me:.... Michael: Say...um...I gotta go now. Mother is probably wondering why I haven't met her in town yet. Me: Oh...I'll come with you. Michael: You will? Me: Yeah. I gotta go that way anyways. Michael: Oh...okay. *Looks at my unfazed boot* Maybe you'd want your boot. Me: Oh...right. Thanks. Michael: Anytime. I smiled once again at him before getting my boot and actually getting it out on the first tug. Okay...I was a bit pissed at that, but I didn't show it on a count of I do not believe Michael would want to see me when I am pissed off. I placed it on and started my way to town with Michael. If I see Xander...oh boy...there shall be hell to pay for that boy, I tell ya! And who knows, looking at how me and Michael are getting along already; him and I have a lot in common...forgot to tell you we started talking a few minutes ago after I got my boot back from the tracks. Any ways...who knows, maybe Michael and I can be good friends...or maybe something else... ---------------------------------------------------------------- To Be Continued *I hoped you all liked this part. I know it sucked but I didn't have a lot to think when I was finishing it. But the next part should be better. I promise.*
